Been told that the blogg has attracted the attention of an NEC man who writes a blog called filofax or buy a fax? Can't remember which of the two..
Anyway apparently this guy has also attracted the interest of some on the left and the right who are not sure who is behind it. But it is obvious to me that if someone can publish detail and comments of an NEC meeting half hour after the NEC met then that person is clearly on the NEC or if not is fed by a source on the NEC. The big question is whether anyone cares or gives a sausage as to what he says or who he is? The answer is... ah.. No! Ah.. and please Mr filifax man.. don't get back to me saying that sausage is spelled with two s's... I don't care!!

The NEC election..
I am doing a comment on the NEC elections as some of you have contacted me wanting to know what my views are on this?
Well my view is a simple one. We need to ask why we have representatives on the NEC and what we want them to do for us when they are there. I don't, to be honest know much about all the candidtaes but here's my take on their performance at regional Council meetings
Louise Cooling. Smart enough to be successful on the NEC so not a waste of a vote if you decide to put your 'x' next to her name
Jon Rogers. An irritating 40 something year old who thinks he is 24 but means well and has given the establishement a lot to think about. So vote for him if you have to
Marsha Janet Thompson. New but fresh and if we believe in having young members elevated then might be worth it.
Glen Kelly. He has taken the establishment on but needs to calm down with his call for revolution every Thursday morning. Otherwise he has done well on the NEC so keep him on!
I don't know much about the others so I won't comment. But if an ordinary member like myself doesn't know much about the others doesn't that mean they haven't done much?
Food for thought!

After Easter..
Back from the Easter break spend most of my time cooking for relatives and going to church which is what most of us would have been doing I expect? The Children had a good break also. Glad when they go back to school on Monday.
Not much to say other than to reiterate who we are and what we stand for? And its as simple as this..
We talk the language of those of us who are simple enough not to be interested in the theory of metahysics and the link with Chairman Mao's cultural revolution. Not interested in that. We talk the lannguage of the admin officer at Middlesex University, we care about what the caretaker working for Haringey Council has to say and the teaching assistant in Richmond or the Health advisor at Charing Cross hospital. That is what maks us different from the self obsessed lefties and the confused right wingers...
Will end by saying come to the regional Concil on May 24th and just observe.. see how our union is being managed and decide on your own whether you find the state we're in acceptable. Then make your own decisions and email me if you wan to to get involved. Our numbers are growing and our resolve is strengthening. Reject intercommunal fighting between the right and left and get more involved with those of us interested in supporting the interests of front line members.
Retain the Labour link
Keep an eye on what the SWP are up to
Abstain from the Gordon Brown v others debate (if you are a Labour party member)
Don't support John McDonnel
Tell Linda Perks that a 5 minute report from Jeremy Corbin at each Council meeting is more than enough! (He does go on!!)
Support motions that are there to help members

General comment..
Delighted to observe that the number of visitors to the site has increased. Greatful also for the positive comments received via email. Not too bothered about the one or two negative interventions. It is always better to be noticed than ignored... We will not get involved with paranoid theories of who is doing what or whether my mother's second cousin twice removed is behind the setting up of the site. Nor would I respond to comments that concentrate on attacking people's personalities.. not my style..
The number of London activists who have written wanting to be involved has increased and the idea of setting up a coordinating committee is gaining ground.
